Companies work on transforming to online, home delivery model

Leading retailers, e-commerce firms and restaurants In India are hiring delivery personnel, training existing store staff for e-commerce business and building more warehouses to keep up with the demand as more people are forced to stay home due to COVID-19.

The Economic Times reports that Walmart-owned Flipkart is in the process of hiring 4,000 people while Spencer's Retail is recruiting 1,000 workers.

Retailers are also partnering with mobility and delivery fleet operators like Uber, Swiggy, Zomato, Rapido and Zypp to move their products.
